≈ Bio & Contact
"I enjoy capturing portraits of nature, I find myself being drawn to patterns and look to distill an image to its essential elements. I enjoy searching out images that have a full range of color and shadow. The majority of my photos are taken while on vacation thus giving me the joy to explore new surroundings as well as coming home to process and revisit the scenery."
≈ Alan Siflinger
Born in NYC, Alan Siflinger has been in the commercial printing industry since 1973, helping LA's top design agencies with their client communication projects, starting his career in the dark room of his companies pre-press department, where he became fascinated with the mystery of the dark room.
As a hobby photographer, he bought his first SLR, printing his work in cebicrome, shooting primarily medium format black and white images for best control of the process.
After transitioning to digital pictures in 1996, at the turn of the century, he began to play with color photography. Being color-blind, he leveraged modern technology to process all of his own images, using numbers and percentages of color.
